Message from Executive Director: "For Such a Time as This"

We are each powerfully positioned with purpose. Every step on the journey, we are invited to say Yes to unknowns. We are invited to have faith.

Faith is being willing to Abide even when things do not make sense. Faith is being willing to lean in before the Divine connections are visible. Faith is choosing to be Humble to gain wisdom while at the same time choosing to be Bold to gain traction - all for His glory.

"For such a time as this" (Esther 4:14), I Humbly share that after being recognized as Minnesota Mother of the Year, I received the honor of being named the 2024 National Mother of the Year® at the American Mothers Inc.® 89th National Convention on April 27. It is a sincere joy and privilege to be a part of this incredible organization, among dynamic women, movers and shakers across the country. American Mothers Inc.® educates, inspires, and recognizes mothers through programs that teach, support, and honor moms, empowering them to positively impact their families and communities. Their mission complements the heart of Down Home’s mission, and I am grateful for the opportunity to represent AMI and be part of a legacy of decades of bold women who have sparked incredible things with their Yes. Halfway through our 7th year, and God is on the move through Down Home. Our dynamic team chooses to Abide in Him, to circle our Miracle Moments, and claim staying power while pushing the needle forward to serve more within our community.

In the month of May, it has been a privilege (and whirlwind) to continue to “empower lives one home at a time”. From classroom visits to move-ins to interviews to events to serving our largest family to preparing for our strategic planning session, it is evident that Down Home is furnishing homes, strengthening connections, and transforming communities.

Wrapping up the month, we celebrated Down Home's record-setting growth with a Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber ribbon cutting! It truly is a milestone moment as we enter into the next stage of expansion through our intentional, extensive, and effective mission. Down Home is a gift to our community. There is momentum for His vision of more in 2024.

Part of His vision is exploring the need for Down Home beyond Fargo-Moorhead. "For such a time as this," we enter Boldly into outreach through speaking engagements and additional opportunities that serve our mission. Entering other communities will produce more Luke 9:16 miracles. With our little, the Lord can and will do immeasurably more.

Our Luke 9:16 stronghold reminds us that He is going to accomplish immeasurably more than we can hope or imagine. We do our best, and let God do the rest.
